In March 2011, this painfully shy, one-year-old Rottweiler mix was surrendered to The Cleveland APL because her family was moving, and they could only take one dog.  Terrified in the shelter environment she soon was transferred to a PAWS (Public Animal Welfare Society) foster home.  Ripley, as she was called, found comfort under a coffee table and only came out to potty.  She did not eat for 3 days.

In April Ripley found her forever home in Bay Village where she continued to hide from the world and jump with every sound.  With intense training, a lot of TLC and socialization Miss Celie emerged (named after the courageous character in The Color Purple) and blossomed into a confident, impeccably obedient, and loving companion.  In September 2011, she passed her AKC Canine Good Citizen test and in December became a Certified Therapy Dog.  Welcome to the world, Miss Celie!  It is a much better place with you in it.
